2010 MPtHA Year
End Awards Program
This
awards program for 2010 was Approved by the Minnesota Pinto Board of Directors
at its regular meeting on March 1, 2010
1. The
owner of
the horse/pony/miniature in Open classes, or the exhibitor in Youth or Amateur classes,
must be a
current member in
good standing of the MPtHA.
Dues must be paid prior to the end of any show in order for points to be
awarded for that show.
2. Points
will
be awarded in the MPtHA year end point system per judge as shown below:

= 4 points Reserve
Champion = 3 points
Year-end award points WILL BE AWARDED for the
Jubilee of Color show in August – one set of Minnesota points per judge.
3. If
a class is held
3 times split or combined in a way not appearing on the published show bill,
the award will be made as the split or combined class was held. If the class is split or combined 2
times or less, the award will be made as the class is published in the show
bill. If a class is conducted
at only 1 show, there will be no year end award for that class.
4. Overall
High Point
awards will be made as follows:
Open: S/H Horse, P/S Horse,
Amateur: S/H Amateur, P/S Amateur, Miniature
Amateur
Pony: S/H Pony, P/S Pony
Miniature: Miniature A, Miniature B
Horse,
Pony & Miniature Divisions:
Halter grand and reserve points will not count in computation of
Overall High Point awards. Classes
conducted at a single show will not count.
Amateur
Division: Classes conducted
at a single show will not count.
5. Year-End
Class Awards: Champion and Reserve Champion year-end
awards will be given for each of the following divisions. Places 3 through 6 will be published,
but no awards given. Year end
awards will not be made for classes with a single award recipient.
Horse Division, Halter & Performance
Each
individual halter, color and performance class shown during the year, according
to split and combined rule (Rule 3).
Gymkhana classes will be combined as "Games”. Limited Walk/Trot
Eng/Western Pleasure & Equitation will be awarded according to the
published rules for those MPtHA classes.
Pony Division,
Halter & Performance
Each
individual halter, color and performance class shown during the year, according
to split and combined rule (Rule 3).
Gymkhana classes will be combined as "Games”.
Miniature A & B Divisions, Halter
& Performance
Each
individual halter, color and performance class shown during the year, according
to split and combined rule (Rule 3).
Amateur Division, Halter & Performance
Each
individual halter, showmanship and performance class shown during the year,
according to split and combined rule (Rule 3). This includes amateur Novice classes.
6. In case of a tie:
For Overall High Point, award goes to
horse/pony/mini/Amateur team with the most first place awards. If a tie still exists, second places
will be totaled, then third places, etc.
For Year-End Class Awards, Halter award goes
to horse/pony/mini with the most Grand Champion awards. If a tie still exists, Reserve Champion
will be totaled, then third places, etc.
Performance and Amateur award goes to
horse/pony/mini/Amateur team with the most first place awards. If a tie still exists, second places
will be totaled, then third places, etc.
If a tie remains in either halter or
performance classes, multiple awards will be made for the tied placing and
lower remaining placings will be moved down in position. (i.e. if there is a tie for 2nd
place, there will be 2 seconds, no third, a fourth, fifth, etc.)
7. Novice
Amateur
- Total of AM Novice English Pleasure & AM Novice Western Pleasure. Award donated by the Neu Family. Cost of yearly award plates/engraving
to be paid by MN Pinto.
8. Midnight
Eagle Combination Versatility Award - Traveling trophy presented to the S/H
horse earning the highest total points from, and must participate in all:
Halter Western
and/or English Pleasure
Trail Ideal
Pinto, Western and/or English
Discipline
Rail, Western and/or English
The
horse/rider combination must be exhibited in at least two of the divisions
(Open & Youth, or Open & Amateur) in the above classes to qualify. Award donated by George & Sandie
Portz in honor of their stallion "Midnight Eagle”. Cost of yearly award
plates/engraving to be paid by MN Pinto.
9. RO
Tsynder Award
–Awarded to recognize outstanding Pleasure/Saddle type Pinto horses, with
an emphasis on the horse’s versatility, training and high quality as an ideal
Pinto horse. It is a traveling
trophy to be awarded at the Minnesota Pinto banquet on a yearly basis. Trophy will be awarded for the last
time for the 2016 show season.
Will
be given to the horse with the highest number of combined TOTAL MINNESOTA
points in Pleasure/Saddle OPEN classes AND Youth or Amateur classes. Youth/Amateur may only use one
horse/rider combination in the point tally. The combination with the highest point total will be
used. The horse must have been
shown in the following classes:
Open
Halter English
Pleasure
Park/3-Gaited
and/or Show Hack Disciplined
Rail (English and/or Western)
Ideal
Pinto (English and/or Western) Tobiano
or Overo Color
Youth/Amateur
Equitation and/or Horsemanship Western
Pleasure
Must
have a minimum 10 total first place awards in required classes.
Cost of yearly award plates/engraving to be paid
by MN Pinto. Any major repair work
will be split 50/50 by award winner, who has possession of trophy, and the
sponsor. Sponsored by Cris
Stetler, in honor of Regal Oaks Tsynder.
10. IM
Truly Special Versatility Award - This award is to recognize a pony’s
versatility. It will be a
traveling trophy, to be awarded for 5 years at the Minnesota Pinto banquet on a
yearly basis, beginning in 2009, and for the last time for the 2013 show
season. After the 2014 show
season, the award will be returned to the sponsor, Loaune Foster.
The trophy will be awarded to the
Amateur/Pony combination earning the highest combined total points in all
classes. The Amateur/Pony combination MUST
compete
at least once during the show season in EACH of the follow 11 classes:
Halter, Open Halter,
Amateur
Trail or Trail In Hand, Open Trail
or Trail In Hand, Amateur
Eng. or West. Pleasure, Open Eng.
Or West. Pleasure Amateur
Eng. or West. Ideal, Open Eng.
or West. Ideal, Amateur
Eng. or West. Disciplined Rail, Open Eng.
or West. Disciplined Rail, Amateur
Eng. or West. Showmanship, Amateur
Points will be MPtHA points, not National ROM
points.
Cost of the trophy is donated by the sponsor,
Loaune Foster. Cost of yearly award plates/engraving to be paid by MN Pinto.
11. Volunteers
of the Year
- Awarded to 2 members, who are not members of the Board of Directors, who have
demonstrated high levels of hard work, and effort on behalf of MPtHA for the
improvement of the charter and breed.
These people are selected by the Board of Directors.
12. Board
Member of the Year - A Board member who has contributed high levels of hard
work, leadership and volunteering to the Board and club. This member is selected by their peers
on the MPtHA Board.
13. Sportsmanship
Award
- A special award to recognize the person who is genuinely a goodwill
ambassador for Minnesota Pinto.
This person is friendly to all, and tries to help wherever they
can. This person is the example of
the club’s ideal member or exhibitor.
To be nominated by the general membership with the yearly ballot and
ratified by the Board of Directors.
Award to be sponsored by the Board of Directors.
14. "Grand
Ol’ Pintoer” Award
- Members of MPtHA are eligible for this award after being a member in good
standing for 10 years or more. This person has made significant contributions
to the organization and is considered to be an outstanding member. The
general membership nominates members on the fall election ballot and the
current Board determines if the nominated members are eligible and if he/she
meets the criteria of making significant contributions to the
organization. Only one member per
year can receive this award, and it can only be received once per member.
