MHC Expo
MPtHA Exhibitor Selection Process
March 6, 2010, Presented to Board 5/19/2010, Approved June 21, 2010
There are six (6) stalls available. if MPtHA has a Queen, she should be asked if she would like to exhibit at Expo and use one of the six (6) stalls. The best balance of Pintos need to fill these stalls, as can possibly be done. If there is no queen, or she declines, then use that stall for someone who has responded "YES”, or proceed to step 4-11 to fill the sixth (6th) stall.
NOTE: One (1) Stall per Group until you get to step 10 & 11.
High Point Pintos should always be asked first to fill stalls.
GROUPS
S/H Horse, either Open or Amateur – possible 2 High Point candidates
P/S Horse, either Open or Amateur – possible 2 High Point candidates
Youth, either S/H or P/S, Pony or Miniature, 13 & Under & 14-18 – possible 2 High Point candidates
Pony, either S/H or P/S – possible 2 candidates
Miniature, Either A or B or Youth or Amateur – possible 4 High Point candidates
1. Ask all of the candidates in each group above to represent MPtHA at Expo with a letter. Give them 7-10 days for a response back to you – "yes or no”.
2. Take the "YES” candidates for each of the five (5) groups. If there is only one remaining "YES” in a group, that "YES” candidate is automatically the exhibitor at Expo.
3. If there are 2 or more candidates in a group and they all respond "YES”, then all those group names are put into hat and one is drawn. The name drawn will be the Expo exhibitor for that group stall.
4. If all the candidates in a group say "NO” to exhibiting at Expo, then go to the Reserve group. Ask all the Reserve winners that fit into that group – like Reserve High Point S/H, Amateur and Open. You would have possibly 2 to choose from.
5. If the Reserve S/H decline, then go to the Midnight Eagle Award Recipient, if a different name, and ask them. The bottom line is to fill this stall with a S/H horse if this group started out as a S/H High Point stall.
6. Do the same process for the P/S, steps 1-4. If not one is available to fill stall, then go to the RO Tsynder Award Recipient – see #5. Bottom line here is to fill stall with a P/S horse if possible.
7. The Youth stall must be a High Point in either of the two age divisions. BUT, they can either be a high point with a mini, pony or horse, S/H or P/S. Repeat the process, steps 1-4. If all these decline, then go to the John R. Morgan award recipient.
8. Do the same process for the pony, steps 1-4. If no one is available to fill stall, then go to the Ocker Award recipient. If this pony declines, then go to the IM Truly Special Pony Versatility Award Recipient.
9. Do the same process for the miniature, steps 1-4. At this time, there is no special award.
10. If stall remains open at this point, ask a World Champion title winner from the past year World Show, or a Congress Show title winner, such as a High Point, a Reserve High Point or a class winner or class 2nd place winner.
11. If this is not working, then ask a horse, pony or miniature that has achieved their PtHA Supreme Champion award OR PtHA Superior Award. Also at this point, forget trying to fill the stall with one of the first designated groups/conformation types listed at the top. S/H, P/S, Youth, Pony, Miniature. Just fill the stall.
Exceptions: NO Stallions. This is a MPtHA policy, confirmed on March 1, 2010.
